About Me

I am a Year 5 student at Tamaki Primary School in Auckland NZ. I am in Room 6 and my teacher  is Mr Craig. My favourite subjects are Maths, Topic and Reading. I like topic because it helps you make movies and reading helps you undrstand books better.  I like using number in different ways in Maths. My hobbies are going to the pools and going to the Library. In the future I would like to become a policewoman.

Happy Mother's day

On mother’s day I gave my mother a card and a heart pancake and my sister gave my mother a happy mother’s day cake. My brother gave my mother breakfast and after that we went to my auntys house.

How to make a tapa cloth

Sketching shells

Firstly, we had to sketch some shells with a pencil. We sketched  the outline
and the main lines on the inside of the shells. Then we chose the best one.

Transferring design

Secondly, we transferred the design onto cardboard. We went over the main lines with black vivid. We also added a border with different designs. I used diamonds and triangles.

Scrunching the cardboard

Next, we scrunched the cardboard about 30 times. When we had finished the paper felt like
smooth cloth.

Adding colour

Finally, we started adding colour to our tapa cloth. We used the black and the brown pastels. My Tapa cloth looked like soft cloth, and I was excited about how it looked.
